How do I verify my Google Business Profile as a fence contractor?
Prove three things in one short video recorded live through your profile: your address (street signs, building numbers), your business name (a permanent sign matching the profile) and that you run it (unlocking the door, opening an inside room). Our two guides walk through it with and without an office.
How long does Google Business Profile verification take?
A code by phone, text or email clears in minutes, a video review takes up to 5 business days and a postcard up to 14 days. It drags on only when a video gets rejected and has to be redone.
Can I verify a Google Business Profile with my home address?
Yes. Verify with your real home address and keep it shown on the profile. A shown address always ranks better than a hidden address with service areas, so skip the service-area setup.
Why did Google reject my Business Profile verification video?
Most often the sign didn’t match the profile name exactly, or there was no proof you run the business. Pre-recorded uploads, cuts, people in the shot and videos over 3 minutes also get rejected.
Can I use a virtual office or a PO box for my Google Business Profile?
No. Google requires a real address where you actually work: your office, shop, yard or home. Virtual offices, mailbox services and PO boxes don’t qualify.
What category should a fence company pick on Google Business Profile?
Fence contractor as the primary category. Add related categories only for services you really offer.
Do I need a website to have a Google Business Profile?
No, but it helps a lot. A website that lists your services and the towns you serve gives Google more reasons to rank your profile and gives homeowners a place to ask for a quote.
Can my fence company have more than one Google Business Profile?
Only for real, separate locations. One business with one location gets one profile. Duplicate profiles for the same business can get both suspended.
Where can I learn marketing for my fence company for free?
Start with the guides on this page and Robert Reign’s YouTube channel, where he shares what works for contractors: ads, Google Maps, follow-up and pricing.
What should I do first after my Google Business Profile is verified?
Ask every recent customer for a review, add photos of your work, list your services and service areas, and post a job photo every few days.
